Coordinated posting is a pattern in public posts about a stock in which several behaviour checks sit outside that stock’s normal range at once and converge on the same narrative. stocksonar’s reading for it is coordination suspected.
Why coordinated posting matters
Coordinated posting is how an organised push can look like a crowd: many accounts, one story, arriving together. Investor.gov describes the end of that road in its note on pump-and-dump schemes. Spotting the pattern early is the point of telling organic stock hype from a coordinated push.
How stocksonar looks for coordinated posting
The same five checks used for every reading, each against the stock’s own history:
- Account age: a surge of recently created accounts.
- Text similarity: identical or near-identical wording across posts.
- Timing clusters: posts arriving in tight bursts.
- Source concentration: a few accounts producing a large share of the posts.
- Amplification: repost and reply patterns around the posts.

One check outside its range is common. In the AAPL record of 3 Nov 2026, timing clusters sat outside Apple’s baseline while the other 3 comparable checks did not, and the record states that 3 are needed before coordination is suspected. So that day read as organic discussion, not coordination. Exact thresholds beyond what a record shows are not published, so the checks cannot be gamed.
What coordination suspected does not mean
- It is not a finding of intent, fraud or illegal market manipulation. It describes a pattern in public posts.
- It does not say who is behind any account or whether anyone was paid.
- It is not a view on the stock. Whether any activity is legal is for regulators and courts.
Questions
Is coordinated posting illegal?
Not necessarily. stocksonar describes a pattern in public posts. Whether any activity breaks the law is for regulators and courts.
Can one burst of posts trigger coordination suspected?
No. No single check decides. Several have to sit outside the stock’s normal range and point at the same narrative.
